Career
Simon Dinning specialises in providing corporate and finance advice on transactions involving British Virgin Islands or Jersey incorporated entities. He has particular expertise in equity capital market deals, cross border mergers & acquisitions and non-contentious restructuring & insolvency.
Simon is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team. He specialises in advising financial institutions and private equity sponsors on leveraged buyout and acquisition financing transactions.
Simon also has a global strategic role within the firm's management structure.
Simon began his career in the corporate division at Herbert Smith where he worked from 1997 to 2001. In 2001 he left Herbert Smith, having been asked to set up the London corporate division of Washington DC based firm Shaw Pittman LLP, before moving to DLA Piper’s corporate team in 2003. He became a Group Partner at Ogier in 2008.
Simon is a recommended / ranked lawyer in Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR 1000. The Legal 500 UK 2020 edition describes him as "effective, energetic and intelligent."
