Career

Anthony advises trustees, settlors, beneficiaries, protectors and enforcers on all aspects of non-contentious and semi-contentious trust law including complex trust structures for estate planning and asset protection purposes, the use of STAR trusts in investment fund structures, establishment of private trust companies (PTCs), Cayman foundation companies and ongoing regulatory compliance.  Anthony also advises executors, beneficiaries and on-shore counsel in relation to applications for grants of probate and letters of administration in deceased estates before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and resealing foreign grants, as well as drafting wills specifically tailored for assets located in the Cayman Islands such as shares in Cayman Islands companies.

Before joining Ogier in 2017, Anthony was senior counsel in the Trusts Group of another offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands for several years. Prior to that, Anthony was a solicitor in the Revenue & Estates Group at Minter Ellison in Brisbane, Australia practising exclusively in the areas of estate planning and administration, trusts and structuring.

Memberships

Anthony is a long-standing council member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in the Cayman Islands, the current Chair of the Education Sub-committee for the STEP Cayman Branch and serves as Student Liaison Officer for the jurisdiction. He is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA).

Anthony is also a notary public in and for the Cayman Islands.

Education

Anthony received his Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) and Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia in 2001 and the post graduate qualification of Graduate Certificate in Law in Estate Planning and associated areas of law also from QUT in 2005.  Anthony became a full member of STEP in Queensland, Australia receiving his TEP in 2004.
