Position

David is partner in Carey Olsen’s Corporate team.

David undertakes a wide range of corporate transactions with a particular experience in the launch of investment funds.

He is regularly instructed by fund managers, UK and international law firms and other financial services firms on the launch, administration, restructuring and listing of both closed and open-ended investment funds.

As well as private funds, David has advised funds that are listed on the LSE, AIM, Euronext and TISE.

Career

David trained at Clifford Chance in London qualifying as an English solicitor in the Private Funds Group in 2004. While there he specialised in the establishment of institutional closed-ended investment funds particularly private equity, real estate and infrastructure funds.

In 2006, he spent nine months on secondment at ABN AMRO advising on the structuring and launch of institutional fund-linked investment products, before joining Carey Olsen in May 2007. David became a partner in 2013.

Carey Olsen is active advising managers on the formation of, inter alia, private equity, real estate and debt funds and downstream transactions, and has a notable client base of LSE-listed funds. Practice head Ben Morgan has experience in advising both public and private funds on the formation and launch of new structures, in addition to assisting them with financing and transactional arrangements. Andrew Boyce‘s practice centres on the formation of open and closed-ended funds and related credit products, while the restructuring of such funds falls under David Crosland‘s remit. ‘Font of knowledge’ Annette Alexander focuses on alternative investment structures, advising on the regulatory regime governing them.
