Position

John specialises in commercial disputes. His specialisms include: public law and judicial review, law of contract, property law, planning law and general commercial litigation. He is a recognised leader in Jersey contract law, Jersey customary law and Jersey property law.

John was elected President of the Law Society of Jersey in 2017 and served in that office until 2021. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.

Career

John was called to the English Bar in 1991 and became an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 1994. He has been a partner since 1995.

He is a prolific writer on local law and a founding member of the Jersey Law Review.

He is a qualified mediator and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
