Caroline specialises in all aspects of commercial property work.  She has unique client insight and experience of development work from a secondment to a major UK developer.

Caroline has specific expertise in the following areas:-

  • joint venture agreements, development management agreements and agreements for lease
  • investment purchases and sales
  • leases (acting on behalf of tenant and landlord)
  • extensive corporate support experience in the property aspects of corporate transactions including handling the Scottish property aspects of cross border transactions
  • auction work
  • securities

Caroline has also worked closely with public sector bodies, in particular local enterprise companies and councils in major property based initiatives.

Recent experience includes advising on the acquisition and development of a flagship office headquarters building in Glasgow, dealing with all Scottish lease work for a major high street retailer and acting for an institutional landlord in sales, acquisitions and lettings of industrial and retail property.

Caroline is well respected by her peers and has acted for other law firms in their commercial property matters.  She is a regular speaker at seminars on commercial property and its various specialisms.

Harper Macleod LLP‘s ‘excellent’ team is jointly led Chris Noble, an expert in lease acquisitions and lease management, and Caroline Summers, who regularly acts for financial institutions, institutional landlords, and SMEs.
