Mark enrolled as a solicitor in September 2012 and has over eight years’ PQE. Mark is an Associate and has been dealing with contentious trust and probate claims for over six years. He cross-qualified, having previously completed the Bar Vocational Course prior to becoming a solicitor.

Mark is a very experienced contentious trust and probate lawyer, with over 95% of his cases falling under this category. He manages all trainees and paralegals undertaking work in this area. He is ‘internal counsel’ in respect of such matters, across not only the Litigation department, but also our Private Client, Family, and Clinical Negligence teams.

He mentors colleagues regarding testamentary capacity and constructive trust issues, cascading his knowledge to others via team training sessions. He is the ‘go-to’ person for correspondence drafting and construction, as well as conflicts of interest and conflict resolution.

Mark is one of the department’s senior figures and has extensive expertise in estate dispute work, specifically 1975 Act claims. He has played a pivotal role in developing the Contentious Trust and Probate team at Barcan+Kirby, operating within the broader Litigation department.
