Career
Emily is a Partner in the Construction team.
She specialises in non-contentious construction matters, including drafting and negotiating building contracts, sub-contracts, forms of security, appointments and collateral warranties/third party rights. Emily advises clients in respect of all methods of procurement and has extensive experience working with JCT, FIDIC, NEC, MF/1 and bespoke forms of contract.
Her clients are active in a variety of sectors, including logistics and industrial, sports, life sciences, film, retirement living, offices and residential.
Emily also enjoys advising clients on strategic issues which arise both during works on site and after practical completion, with advice including how to get development projects back on site after a main contractor insolvency and how to deal with the remediation of substantial defects, whilst preserving the contractual rights of her clients to bring claims against those responsible.
She qualified into Forsters’ Construction team in 2010 having trained with the firm. Emily is also our Graduate Recruitment Partner and oversees the recruitment of trainee solicitors to the firm.
Emily is ranked in Chambers UK Guide 2023 as an ‘Up and Coming’ partner.
