Position
Partner in the firm’s Lincoln office, with eight years post-qualification experience in tax planning, estate and trust administration and mental capacity matters. Working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and o fhealth and social care legislation means that Imogen is often involved in complex applications to the Court of Protection for vulnerable young adults/the elderly, as well as healthcare meetings and challenges to local authority funding decisions/allegations of abuse. Current caseload includes a number of complex, high value estate and trust matters with contentious issues. Qualifications with STEP and ACTAPS gives Imogen a unique edge in dealing with these cases which require a detailed understanding of the legal position including the Settled Land Act, inheritance tax and the practical application of reliefs (APR/BPR and working farmers relief) combined with an approach that focuses on dispute resolution and the best outcome for clients. Imogen works regularly with other professionals in tax planning matters for business owners, clients with agricultural assets or families with complex needs to suggest and implement practical and dynamic solutions. Following a recent talk at an NFU seminar, the branch rep commented that it was ’the best I have been to in my NFU career ... ‘, and client comments include: ‘Main strengths ... accessibility, discretion, integrity, genuine interest in the client, anticipation of the client’s needs and a desire to resolve all legal issues as quickly and efficiently as possible’.
