Position
Nick, recognised as a Rising Star in previous editions, is a Senior Associate who has been a part of Browne Jacobson’s Government and Infrastructure practice since January 2015, having joined from the projects team at Nabarro LLP.
He has considerable experience advising public and private sector clients on a wide range of public sector projects (including major procurements, infrastructure projects and joint ventures), with a particular focus on complex regeneration.
Nick’s recent experience has also included outsourcing, commercialisation and advice on the structuring/operation of wholly-owned local authority housing/development vehicles. He has spent time on secondment in-house at both local authorities and key suppliers to government.
The highlights of Nick���s recent work include:
Acting for Folkestone and Hythe District Council (and Otterpool Park LLP) on Otterpool Park, a garden town project which will deliver up to 8,500 new homes. Advising Lovell Partnerships on its housing-led regeneration joint venture with West Sussex County Council which will deliver an initial pipeline of over 500 new dwellings across the county. Acting for Watford Borough Council on the Town Hall Cultural Quarter regeneration project. Advising the London Borough of Ealing in relation to Southall Gateway, a housing-led regeneration project that will deliver over 500 new homes, of which circa 80% will be affordable. Advising Kent County Council on its re-procurement of facilities management for its entire corporate estate. Acting for Morgan Sindall in relation to a number of corporate regeneration joint ventures and extra care development schemes with local authorities. Advising Chichester District Council on the Southern Gateway regeneration project. A circa £120m GDV mixed use town centre regeneration project led by the District Council, collaborating with West Sussex County Council. Continuing to act for the London Borough of Ealing on The Green, Southall, a major housing-led town centre regeneration scheme with a GDV of £200m. Continuing to advise the London Borough of Havering on the delivery of two housing regeneration projects with capital value of over £800m. Continuing to act for Watford Borough Council on the redevelopment of the Watford Health Campus via an asset backed vehicle. The Health Campus is a 29 hectare site under multiple ownerships that will be subject to over £500m of development. The most recent development being a multi-storey car park adjacent to Watford Hospital with a capital value of circa £50m. Advising Chalkdene Developments LLP (a regeneration joint venture between Lovell Partnerships and Hertfordshire County Council) on a series of five development schemes with a combined GDV of circa £50m. Acting for Lightquote Limited, a private sector developer, in relation to a housing-led mixed-use regeneration scheme in the centre of Barking, the developer working in conjunction with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to deliver circa 300 new homes Advising City of Lincoln Council in relation to the delivery of the Western Growth Corridor, a housing led mixed use regeneration project to deliver circa 3,000 new homes. Advising an NHS Foundation Trust on potential commercialisation options in relation to its surplus estate. Advising Uttlesford District Council on its corporate joint venture with Norse, with a contract value of £30m. Acting for Barking and Dagenham Trading Partnerships Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Council) on various commercial matters and acquisitions. Advising both Elmbridge Borough Council and Harlow District Council on the configuration and operation of their respective wholly-owned housing company structures.
