David specialises in complex and high value defendant clinical negligence claims representing both general practitioners and consultants.

Originally from South Africa, David trained and qualified in a constitutional Roman Dutch jurisdiction and spent a number of years working for the South African equivalent of the MIB dealing with high-value and complex traumatic injuries, including acquired brain injury, traumatic amputations and para-, quadra- and tetraplegic claims.  He was one of the pioneers of tailored ADR for the resolution of RTA disputes.

In 2001 he entered private practice joining MacRobert Inc in Cape Town specialising in defence clinical negligence, while at the same time acting for RTA claimants and later moved to Malcom Lyons Brivik Inc undertaking claimant clinical negligence work.  While in private practice, he held higher rights of appearance in all divisions of the High Court of South Africa, and lectured personal injury for the Cape Town Law Society and the School for Legal Practice for seven years, regularly being voted as “Most Inspiring Lecturer”.

David emigrated to the UK at the end of 2007 and cross qualified under the QLTT as a solicitor.  He now deals exclusively with high value and complex clinical negligence claims for MPS and NHS Resolution, specialising in consultant and GP indemnity matters respectively, with specific interest in orthopaedic, spinal, neuro and vascular surgery.
