Alexis Guinan
Position
Alexis focuses her practice on economic sanctions, anti-money laundering and anti-corruption laws and the application of those laws as well as other international trade laws to transactional matters. With her deep knowledge of fund structures, Alexis handles complex investor- and investment-related challenges related to Russia and other sanctions programs. She routinely supports Funds, Corporate and Financial Restructuring clients in due diligence and negotiation of sanctions and other trade-related terms for debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, long-term supply agreements, and other types of transactions requiring international trade expertise. Alexis has leveraged her experience in sanctions and each other subspecialty within Akin’s renowned International Trade group to more effectively identify and evaluate potential liabilities and risks in sanctions and other areas of international trade on a transaction-specific basis.
