Position

As a partner in Akin’s international trade practice, Tatman Savio counsels clients on U.S. law and policy affecting international trade and business, including sanctions, export controls, and anti-corruption laws. She represents clients in national security reviews conducted by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. Tatman regularly works with companies to develop and implement international trade compliance programs and manage internal investigations and related enforcement issues. She also assists clients with cross-border transactions by conducting due diligence and developing strategies to mitigate international trade compliance liabilities. Tatman advises companies in a range of industries throughout Asia, including China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Career

Tatman has worked in secondment roles at two Fortune 50 companies, where she performed the functions of compliance and investigations counsel. Prior to joining Akin Gump, Tatman worked as an intelligence analyst at the National Security Agency. Tatman has been named Best in International Trade (2019) and shortlisted for Best in Compliance and Regulatory (2017-2018) by the Euromoney Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards.

Education

Tatman received her B.A. with highest distinction from the University of Virginia, and her J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law.
