Position
Salles is a partner and the head of Azevedo Sette Advogados’ International Trade and Competition and Antitrust practices, based in São Paulo. He draws upon more than 15 years’ experience advising clients in complex transactions involving international trade, economic law and antitrust, compliance and anti-corruption matters.
Career
Salles applies PhD-level training to significant international trade mandates. His recent experience includes acting as general coordinator and/or senior expert in projects funded by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the World Customs Organization (WCO), the European Union, the Korean Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and the Brazilian Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX). From 2017 to 2020, he acted as outside counsel to the Brazilian Delegation to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He has led successful representations in trade remedy investigations across the Americas, Europe and Asia, tariff amendments and negotiations. In the competition and antitrust front, he has acted in successful merger reviews has advised national and international clients with compliance issues. Before joining Azevedo Sette, he was partner and head of International Trade and Customs, Competition and Antitrust group (2008–2015) in leading TMT law firm in Brazil.

LL.B. from UFMG Law School, admitted to practice in Brazil in 2005; B.A. in International Relations from PUC/MG (2004); DEA (2007) and PhD (2011) in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies Geneva.
