Jens's practice focuses on private investment funds. He has deep experience working with the region's leading managers to establish some of the most significant and innovative investment structures in Southeast Asia. Client reach out to Jens for his wide-ranging expertise – ranging from bespoke club deals involving the world's largest and most sophisticated institutional investors, to global discretionary funds that require carefully tailored multi-jurisdictional fund structures. In addition to their flagship mandates, he also advises clients on their separate accounts, side cars and co-investment platforms. He regularly advises managers on the structuring of their own fund management platforms, strategic partnerships and co-GP arrangements, and employee incentivisation structures and carry vehicles. His deep understanding of fund regimes in all major domiciles, along with a strong grasp of the key tax, regulatory and legal issues that impact global fundraises (such US tax structuring, ERISA, AIFMD and designing Shariah compliant structures) makes him invaluable to clients looking to navigate an increasingly complex global environment.

Jens also represents government, institutional and corporate investors on their fund investments and co-investments, and counsels sponsors on various matters relating to their businesses, including the establishment of fund managers, structuring of joint ventures, sponsor operating and shareholder agreements, and carried interest planning. He also advises startups and venture capital investors, and has given multiple workshops and talks on venture capital programs and investments.
