Jeremiah Soh is a Local Principal in the Tax Practice Group at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow. His focus areas involve dealing with tax controversies and disputes with tax authorities. He has experience representing clients in tax appeals before all levels of the Singapore courts, and has successfully achieved cost-effective solutions for clients by resolving disputes with the tax authorities through effective advocacy outside the tax appeal process.
Jeremiah is ranked as a "Rising Star" in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific Guide's Tax: Firms (Domestic) category since 2020, and was named "Tax Disputes & Litigation Rising Star" in 2023 and “Tax Controversy Rising Star” by International Tax Review (ITR)'s Asia Pacific Tax Awards in 2024. He is often called upon to give his views in various speaking engagements and roundtable discussions with industry leaders and has authored firm publications on various topics that are relevant to the tax practitioners. He is a co-author in the Singapore Income Tax Concise Casebook, the only tax casebook available in Singapore, and a contributing author to the seminal tax law reference book, The Law and Practice of Singapore Income Tax (Third Edition). He is also currently the only tax lawyer to sit on the committee for the Transfer Pricing Roundtable hosted by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
Prior to joining Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, Jeremiah was a practising lawyer at a local law firm.
Jeremiah's practice includes tax advisory and consultancy work for various multinational companies. He has advised on a spectrum of cross-border and domestic tax matters. He is consistently relied upon for tax advisory and consultancy work by various multinational companies, advising them on domestic and cross-border tax matters.
