Career
Cristina is a partner of Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution practice group in Bogotá and has more than 16 years of experience in domestic and international arbitration and litigation. She has acted as counsel to several national and international companies in the real estate, financial, oil, technology and pharmaceutical industries in commercial and administrative litigation and arbitration and has advised them in pre-trial negotiations and the execution of settlement agreements. Before joining Baker McKenzie, Cristina worked for various local firms and served as the head of the litigation department in Coca-Cola Femsa. In 2014, Cristina was admitted to the New York State Bar.
Her practice focuses on disputes arising from infrastructure projects, shareholders agreements, disputes arising after or during a merger or acquisition, and in contractual liability disputes in distribution contracts, agency and representation agreements, construction contracts, trusts and contracts for the purchase of oil assets. Cristina also has experience in representing clients before disputes boards and in the negotiation of settlement agreements before or during the court procedures and in the assessment of risks in current or potential litigation matters.
Cristina has also been a professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Law School and has taught Roman Law, Commercial Law and General Theory of Procedure.
