Position
Mohamed El Far is a counsel at Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo.
Career
Mohamed focuses his practice on antitrust and competition law, international commercial law and trade, and compliance and investigations. While working in the Cairo office, he was able to relocate to Baker McKenzie's London office for six months, where he worked in the European Union's Competition & Trade Department. Mohamed worked as well on several occasions at the Egyptian Competition Authority. He has long worked on matters concerning Egyptian competition laws and regulations and has in fact gained considerable experience in the development and implementation of competition law compliance programs for multinational companies across a wide range of industry sectors. He also provides assistance in mergers and acquisitions transactions to ensure compliance with competition laws. Mohamed has worked extensively on trade disputes related to customs, dumping and safeguards measures. He also has extensive experience in providing compliance training sessions to clients, including training on anti-bribery, compliance, dawn raid and unfair competition issues. Mohamed is consistently ranked by Legal 500 in Corporate, Commercial, M&A and litigation. He won the Clients Choice Award 2021 in Competition.

Education
He received his LLB from Cairo University's Faculty of Law in 2004. In addition to his LLM in International and Comparative Law from the American University in Cairo, he obtained an LLM in European Union Law from Stockholm University in June 2008. In July 2012, Mohamed was awarded a PhD from Queen Mary's University of London.
