Career

Lawyer and Politologist of the Universidad de los Andes, with specialization in employment law from the Universidad Javeriana, with 24 years of experience as external advisor for local and multinational companies in matters related to the 11 service lines of the employment team.

Evelyn advises companies in the energy, mining, infrastructure, oil, financial institutions, private equity funds, technology, consumer, pharmaceutical, food and services sectors. Advice on issues of human resources, contracts, transactions, audits, compliance, data protection, contracting and negotiation with third parties, commercial, civil and labor legislation, social security, solidarity economy, Colombian immigration, procedures and litigation.

She has experience in coordinating and reviewing regional consultations on labor law and expatriates in the countries of Canada, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Management of administrative matters, strategy, growth projects, legal quality and human talent of the Firm as a member of the executive committee and the board of partners. Teacher of labor affairs and solidarity economy in specializations. Collective bargaining (as a negotiator or as a consultant) and arbitration courts in collective labor conflicts (as an arbitrator or as a secretary).

Evelyn joined Baker & McKenzie in 2000 as a junior associate.

She is an active member of the Global Steering Committee for the Firm’s Global Immigration and Mobility group, and leads the immigration practice throughout Latin America. It is also the knowledge management partner for Colombia.

Outside the Firm, Evelyn is also a member of the Committee for Women in Mining in Colombia, an organization that promotes gender equality in the mining industry.

Evelyn was included in the list of arbitrators of the Labor Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice to integrate the Mandatory Arbitration Courts (2021-2022).
