Career

Marcela Taquette Vaz is a very active young partner with experience in different areas of the practice of banking and finance, with an emphasis in cross-border and local project finance deals. She routinely works for financial institutions, equity sponsors and borrowers on different types of cross border financing deals, including bond offerings (including tender offers, consent solicitations and exchange offers), syndicated loans, leveraged and acquisition financings, trade financings and debt restructurings, involving complex structures for sharing of collateral among lenders of different jurisdictions. In the domestic market she advises on debt offerings (mostly infrastructure debentures) and bank financings, including loans from development banks and local governmental agencies. She also has expertise in derivatives and structured products. Recently Marcela has been involved in all bridge and long-term financings for solar photovoltaic projects of EDF Renewables' and Canadian Solar's entities in Brazil, including Pirapora. Marcela has an LLM from New York University School of Law and is admitted to practice also in New York
