Career

Paula Pessôa has a vast experience in structured finance products in general, derivatives, investment funds and public sector financing. She is also recognized for her knowledge of regulatory aspects associated with asset management, asset administration and private banking services. She has strong academic and professional credentials, and an extensive knowledge of Brazilian structured finance transactions, especially involving structured products such as credit rights investment funds (FIDCs), private equity investment funds (FIPs) and real estate investment funds (FIIs). She has a hands -on approach and is deeply involved in the structuring and execution of many complex deals in the Brazilian structured funds market. Her practice includes creative structured finance transactions, including securitization of receivables, real estate and financial assets, as well as local and cross-border derivative transactions. She has represented Brazilian underwriters and asset management companies in the structuring of innovative deals, such as a recent R$1.1 billion credit rights investment fund, in which IDB and IFC made a relevant investment, which was tailordrafted to meet the target investors' profile. She is also actively involved in public sector financing, including loan transactions with Brazilian states. This year Paula counselled Klabin in connection with the issuance of Export Credit Notes in favor of Banco Bradesco S.A.
