Career

Sérgio Ramos Yoshino is a partner of the M&A and Private Equity practices of the firm, who also currently dedicates a portion of his time to the Banking & Finance and Bankruptcy & Restructuring practices. Sérgio usually works in large-cap M&A transactions, sale of distressed assets, divestment strategies and M&A transactions in the context of debt restructuring deals. Given Sergio's deep knowledge of the banking industry and funding alternatives in special situations cases, and also solid experience in mergers and acquisitions, he is able to combine his experience in the practice with strong negotiation skills in structuring and executing deals in an adverse context and involving several parties. Sérgio has experience advising both seller and buyer sides and is praised by colleagues and clients for his communication skills and technical knowledge, as well as for his ability to navigate through different industries and add value to difficult negotiations of commercial aspects of the transactions with a take on possible effects of insolvency and collateralization of debt and future monetization of assets. Sergio also has experience in hybrid securities and debt-to-equity transactions, which often are elements of complex M&A deals in which he is involved. Sergio has an LLM from University of Chicago Law School and is admitted to practice also in New York.
