Career

Carolina is a young partner and yet experienced lawyer at the M&A and corporate finance practices of Pinheiro Guimarães, having worked in a wide variety of the firm's most strategic transactions for the last 12 years. Graduating in 2009 from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo Law School, one of the top tier law schools in Brazil, she later obtained a degree in Graduate Studies in Corporate Law from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in 2013.In 2016, after obtaining her LLM degree from Stanford Law School, she joined Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton in New York as an international associate of the corporate practice, where she participated, among others, in the Netshoes' registered IPO at the New York Stock Exchange, a Brazilian sports apparel ecommerce leader. Returning to Brazil in 2017, Carolina took part in strategic and challenging deals in Pinheiro Guimarães, including advising Reserva on its combination of business with Arezzo, as one the most relevant fashion industry deals of 2020. Her contribution was also critical in advising Citibank in the syndicated loan to the Brazilian Electricity Trading Chamber – CCEE, a joint effort of all the relevant financial institutions acting in Brazil to rescue the Brazilian electric power sector and mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic. Carolina is praised by clients and colleagues as a hands-on and solution-oriented professional, which combined with her interpersonal skills, proactive attitude and dynamic personality, as well as extensive practical and technical knowledge, makes her a valuable firm asset and a key piece of the next partner generation.
