Career
Francisco José Pinheiro Guimarães is the head of the São Paulo office and has been historically recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Brazil, not only in Corporate and M&A transactions, but also in the banking and finance and capital markets practices. His strong academic and professional credentials, knowledge of the Brazilian market, relationships with the most important players in the financial and capital markets sectors, hands-on approach and fine negotiation skills also places him on the top of the list of the most prominent lawyers of his generation. Still deeply involved in deal execution and structuring of the most complex and high-end deals in the M&A and Private Equity practice, Francisco's indisputable experience is seen by clients as an asset and competitive advantage in the negotiation of complex deals. He brings his expertise in banking and finance, capital markets, debt restructuring, sale of distressed assets, acquisition finance and structuring of hybrid securities to complex domestic and cross-border M&A deals and is able to offer creative solutions resulting from a solid and impressive track record that includes several of the most relevant, strategic and cutting-edge transactions carried out in the Brazilian legal market over the last couple of decades.
