Associate - Corporate and Finance Transactions

Brigid K. Ndege is an associate in the Finance Transactions group with experience representing corporate clients in restructuring and insolvency proceedings, out-of-court loan workouts and restructurings, as well as corporate litigation matters. This representation includes contested bankruptcy matters such as plan objections, claim objections, objections to discharge, as well as preference and fraudulent transfer actions. Brigid regularly represents debtors, equity holders, as well as other secured and unsecured creditors.

In addition to her bankruptcy and insolvency matters, Brigid has experience successfully representing clients across a wide range of industries in complex litigation matters, including trade secret and restrictive covenants, breach of contract, issues pertaining to state court receivers, and fiduciary issues.

Prior to joining BCLP, Brigid worked at another firm handling commercial litigation as well as bankruptcy and insolvency matters.  Before that, Brigid served as a judicial law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Before that, she was a consumer attorney for a legal services organization.

Brigid has been recognized as a Blackshear Presidential Fellowship by the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, a fellowship that recognizes attorneys for legal excellence in the practice of bankruptcy law and for a commitment to principles of civility, ethics, and professionalism. Brigid was also awarded the 20/20 Partners Rising Young Leader Award by the American Bar Association Business Law Section Business Bankruptcy Committee. This award recognizes the nation’s top young bankruptcy lawyers who have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to business bankruptcy, community involvement, leadership, and professionalism.

Brigid serves on the board of the Harvard Law Society of Illinois as well as the board for Chicago CARE (Credit Abuse Resistance Education), a non-profit organization that aims to educate students about the consequences of consumer credit abuse through presentations.

Brigid earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and her Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School. While at Duke, she studied abroad at Oxford University where she studied the British legal system and its similarities to the U.S. legal system.
