Career
Peter Hansen is a partner in the firm's Energy, Environment and Infrastructure practice group and is the Global Co-Leader of BCLP's Energy Transition Sector. Peter has nearly 30 years of experience working with clients throughout the energy and natural resources sectors, including significant projects in renewable energy, conventional fossil fuels, and mining. Peter's experience includes a decade of service as the General Counsel of ADA Carbon Solutions, LLC, in Littleton, Colorado, which during Peter's tenure constructed, owned and operated a large manufacturing facility to produce activated carbon from lignite coal (mined at the Company's surface mine in Louisiana) for use in mercury emission control at coal-fired power plants, waste-to-energy facilities and cement plants, for taste and odor control at municipal water treatment facilities, and for other purposes.
Peter's experience as a member of an executive management team provided him the opportunity and experience of working with senior leadership teams and boards of directors to manage construction projects, operational activities, financings, merger and acquisition activities, land and mineral lease acquisitions, regulatory matters and resolution of disputes in the energy and natural resources space. As a 1995 graduate of the University of Denver College of Law who also earned an M.B.A. from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver that same year, Peter has provided a broad range of legal services to his clients in the energy and natural resources sectors for decades. Major projects and experience areas include:

A wide variety of commercial agreements in the energy and natural resources space, including construction/EPC contracts, equipment procurement contracts, services agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, interconnection agreements, shared facilities agreements, and power purchase agreements.
