Career
LaDawn Burnett is a member of the Class Actions Practice Group. Her experience includes assisting clients in commercial and class action litigation as well as arbitration matters. LaDawn has also advised clients regarding litigation-related aspects of corporate transactions. She has assisted clients in the financial services, health care, and energy sectors.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Burnett served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Raymond A. Jackson, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She has also served as a research assistant to the Honorable Ann Claire Williams, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and as an extern to the Honorable Rebecca Pallmeyer, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Prior to her clerkship with Judge Jackson, Ms. Burnett worked in Uganda for a NGO developing capacity building and technical assistance programs focused primarily on anti-corruption and governance issues, judicial reform, and oil and gas law for national governments and courts, as well as regional entities, in Sub-Saharan Africa.
During law school, Ms. Burnett served as Production Editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy; President of the Black Law Students Association; and Student Coordinator for the Small Business Pro Bono Project. Before law school, she worked in state-level government on public policy issues.
