Career

Caleb Mathena is a litigator in BCLP’s Business & Commercial Disputes and Class Actions & Mass Torts Practice Groups. Caleb is an accomplished trial lawyer with a demonstrated record of success in the courtroom, having achieved several favorable jury verdicts, summary judgments, and settlements on behalf his clients. His experience includes advocacy in the areas of corporate and shareholder disputes, securities fraud, class actions, intellectual property, appellate litigation, professional malpractice, employment law, privacy and HIPAA compliance, and government investigations.

Caleb began his legal career representing health care providers, including the Pacific Northwest’s top doctors, hospitals, and health systems. He earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law where he served as a managing editor of the UCLA Law Review and participated in the First Amendment Amicus Clinic taught by Professor Eugene Volokh (of The Volokh Conspiracy). While at UCLA, Caleb also externed for Judge Robert S. Lasnik of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and prosecuted misdemeanors as a Rule 9 legal intern with the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

Before attending law school, Caleb graduated summa cum laude from Whitworth University where he played four years of college football, helping lead the Pirates to their first NCAA playoff appearance in nine years as a starting member of the team’s nationally ranked defense and earning back-to-back academic all-district honors.
