Position

Tax Partner.  For almost 30 years, Mr. Cosby has advised clients on the tax aspects of real estate and partnership transactions. He has worked with real estate investment trusts (REITs) and real estate companies on all types of transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and going private transactions.

Mr. Cosby is a problem solver in complex US tax rules impacting public and private REITs, partnerships, and other real estate companies. He works closely with lawyers in the Corporate Department in representing issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions, and in public and private mergers and acquisitions.

Education

Mr. Cosby received his JD from William & Mary Law School in 1990, where he was Editor of the Administrative Law Review. He received his BS from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce in 1985.
