Andrew Ong is a partner in Goodwin’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice and a leader of the firm’s Trade Secrets, Employee Mobility & Non-Competes group.

Andrew focuses his practice on complex intellectual property issues, encompassing patent disputes and trade-secret litigation. He has extensive experience in litigation within federal courts, as well as proceedings by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, such as inter partes reviews and reexaminations. His work encompasses a diverse range of technology areas, including network devices, design automation software, data storage, and semiconductor chips.

Andrew regularly engages in pro bono work. His recent pro bono activities include filing several FOIA lawsuits on behalf of the ACLU seeking documents relating to language access at immigrant detention center as well as treatment of immigrants by ICE third-party contractors. Andrew also regularly takes on cases, including prisoner § 1983 cases, through the Northern District of California’s Federal Pro Bono Project.
