Career

Octavio has more than 13 years of experience in litigation and arbitration, beginning his career as a Legal Assistant in the Second Chamber of the Civil Appeal Court of Managua. Then, he was promoted to Clerk of the Second Civil District Court of Managua, increasing his experience in the drafting and authorization of rulings and sentences. Afterwards, he worked for important locals firms, where he strengthened his knowledge and skills in the field of labor, administrative, constitutional and industrial property law, advising local and foreign companies on those fields and working hand in hand with other practice areas. He has represented local investors in national arbitration processes and foreign companies in mediation processes with construction unions, and he also has vast experience advising local and foreign banks and companies in credit recovery and bankruptcy processes. Octavio received his Law degree with mention in Economy and a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Law from Universidad Centroamericana in Managua and is authorized to practice as a lawyer and notary public by the Supreme Court of Justice of Nicaragua. He was selected to participate in the Professional Fellows Program of the U.S. Department of State in Colorado and Washington D.C. Additionally, he has studies in commercial arbitration from the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Nicaragua and has obtained a postgraduate degrees in Family Law and Civil Procedure Law from Universidad Politecnica de Nicaragua in Managua.
