Marcia Augsburger has more than 26 years of experience litigating a broad range of civil disputes and class actions in federal and state trial and appellate courts, particularly in the healthcare industry, assessing and advising clients on risk, resolving disputes, serving as a dispute resolver, and handling complex healthcare transactions and counseling. Marcia brings a multi-dimensional perspective to the services she provides, having represented hospitals, clinics, telehealth and telemedicine providers, physicians, medical groups, insurers and Knox-Keene health plans, new products developers and manufactuers, ancillary providers including labs, IT companies, clinical trials companies, pharmaceutical labs, pharmacies, ambulance companies, third-party administrators, brokers, other fiduciaries, and employers. Marcia is also Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance. Marcia's specific work for clients includes risk assessments, gap analyses and investigations, risk mitigation and response counseling, contracting, developing policies and procedures and training in healthcare-related areas such as HIPAA, EMTALA, coding and billing, clinical documentation, coverage, reimbursement, telemedicine, medical tourism, fraud and abuse, Stark, Anti-kickback and California equivalent regulations, ERISA and workplace wellness programs.
