Position

Dr. Christian Halàsz is a restructuring partner in the Frankfurt office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on complex cross-border and domestic restructurings. He advises clients on strategic and legal issues related to distressed debt and special situations and has many years of experience across multiple sectors, including automotive, telecommunications, packaging, paper, transport, real estate, chemicals and energy. He represents hedge funds, high-yield investors, institutional lenders, creditor committees, private equity funds and domestic and international companies. Christian has been involved in some of the most contentious landmark restructuring situations in the last decade, such as the three biggest Icelandic banks (Glithnir, Kaupthing and Landsbanki), Galapagos and Adler.
