Career
Kregg A. Koch is a partner in Knobbe Martens’ Los Angeles office. His practice includes strategic patent procurement, patent portfolio management, intellectual property due diligence and general counseling on domestic and international IP protection, infringement, patentability, and IP agreements. Kregg currently represents clients in a wide range of technologies, with an emphasis on medical devices and procedures, cleantech, aerospace, recreation, sports and fitness goods, and consumer goods.
Kregg is part of Knobbe’s Medical Devices and Procedures group, the top firm for medical device patent grants in the US. In the medical device field, Kregg has worked extensively with cardiovascular, orthopedic, and wound care technologies.
In addition to his educational background in environment, civil, and mechanical engineering, Kregg spent several years working as a component design engineer on the Space Shuttle Main Engine rocket program for the Rocketdyne division of The Boeing Company. In particular, he worked as a conceptual design and manufacturing support engineer. While working on this program, Kregg received NASA’s Space Flight Awareness Award for engine safety related mechanical design contributions.
