Position

Sven Nickel is counsel in the Frankfurt office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Real Estate Practice.

Mr. Nickel advises German and international investors, asset managers, and financial institutions on real estate transactions, project developments, joint ventures, commercial leases, and all types of asset management matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Nickel worked as an associate in another international law firm in the real estate department, in the Frankfurt office for seven years.

Durch die Eingliederung in das internationale Netzwerk begleitet die deutsche Real Estate-Praxis von Latham & Watkins LLP routinemäßig grenzüberschreitende Portfoliotransaktionen für US-Private Equity-Häuser, wenngleich man weiterhin zur Restrukturierung von Immobilienportfolios von unter anderem Büro- und Wohnimmobilien berät. So verschreibt sich auch Praxis-Co-Leiter Carsten Loll der Betreuung von Private Equity-Mandanten, Asset-Managern und institutionellen Investoren bei großvolumigen Transaktionen der Assetklassen Büro, Einzelhandel und Logistik sowie der Beratung zu immobilienrechtlichen Aspekten im M&A-Kontext in unter anderem den Energie- und Gesundheitssektoren. Neben ihm zählt Otto von Gruben zu den zentralen Ansprechpartnern für Immobilientransaktionen, insbesondere für Preferred- und Structured-Equity-Strukturen. Through its integration into the international network, the German real estate practice of Latham & Watkins LLP routinely assists US private equity firms with cross-border portfolio transactions, although it continues to also advise on the restructuring of real estate portfolios, including office and residential properties. Practice co-head Carsten Loll is equally committed to advice to private equity clients, asset managers and institutional investors on large transactions across the office, retail and logistics asset classes, as well as assistance with M&A-related real estate issues in the energy and healthcare sectors, among others. Alongside him, Otto von Gruben is one of the key contacts for real estate transactions, particularly for preferred and structured equity structures. Commercial tenancy law issues are handled by counsel Sven Nickel, although he also assists with transactions.
