Matthew Chase

Matthew J. Chase is counsel in the firm’s New York office and is a member of the Corporate Department.  He is also a member of the firm's Investment Funds practice group. Mr. Chase's practice focuses on private equity and investment fund formation, investment structuring and related transactions.  He regularly advises fund sponsors in the organization, negotiation and operation of US and global investment funds, including buyout, infrastructure, energy, distressed asset and other funds.  Mr. Chase's practice includes the structuring and negotiation of fund agreements, co-investment arrangements and internal sponsor arrangements, the ongoing representation of fund and joint venture entities and their portfolio companies and advising on the acquisition of investment managers, as well as general corporate transactional and governance matters.  He also advises sponsors of private investment funds on registration and compliance matters under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
