Joe Athanas is Office Managing Partner of the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Finance Department.

Mr. Athanas has more than 25 years of experience representing debtors, secured creditors and other parties in interest in US bankruptcy and reorganization cases. Representative clients include debtors American Classic Voyages, Eddie Bauer, Greenfield Industries, GST Telecommunications, Graceway Pharmaceuticals, National Envelope Corporation and Regent Communications, and secured lenders Bank of America, Citibank, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.
