Career

David Araque is co-director of the Dispute Resolution and Investment Protection Practice Group, specialized in international dispute resolution, international arbitration, international litigation and dispute resolution associated with investment projects.

He has more than 15 years of experience in litigation and, national and international arbitration, particularly in areas that include construction/infrastructure (EPC, FIDIC Red Book contracts), design and procurement of industrial equipment, commercial distribution (intermediation) and disputes associated with the energy sector.

He has provided advise on prevention of disputes, on contractual and extracontractual liability issues, as well as several group and popular actions in defense of multinational companies in environmental matters, personal injuries and consumer protection rules.

He has been professor of Universidad de los Andes in Roman Law, Business Law, Obligations (Civil Liability, Effects, Transmission and Termination of Obligations) and argumentation in civil proceedings.
