Career

Member of the Mining, Energy and Natural Resources team, with an emphasis in mining. He focuses his practice on corporate/M&A, contractual and regulation matters in the industry. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions of companies and projects and financing facilities, as well as joint ventures, earn-ins and joint operating agreements. He also advises clients in operation cycle-related contracts, such as mining rights and surface lands dealings, exploration, development and mineral trading and marketing. He also helps clients with due diligence, regulation consultancy and permits. He is active in sustainability and ESG matters.

Sergio has a Law Degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2012). Also has a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) in Environmental and Natural Resources Law and Policy at the University of Denver (2016), including courses at Colorado School of Mines. He also holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge (2020) and certificate in Business Sustainability Management at the Cambridge University Institute for Sustainability Leadership - CISL (2021). He also holds courses in mining and oil and gas at the National Society for Mining and Energy (SNMPE) and in Merger and Acquisitions form Universidad ESAN (2014).
