Jean-Maxime advises clients across all industries with the upstream assessment of their merger projects and with any necessary filing to the relevant merger control and foreign investment authorities. He regularly handles technically challenging cases before the European and the French Competition Authority, in particular the structuring and notification of strategic joint ventures or partnerships, as well as transactions concerning local markets.

He has significant experience in coordinating and managing multi-jurisdictional merger control and foreign direct investment (“FDI”) filings with Mayer Brown’s global network of offices and partner firms, and assists clients with all reporting and filing requirements under the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation ("FSR").

Companies also turn to him for advice on broad cartel, resale price maintenance and dominance investigations, and for representation in all related litigations appeals against inspections and competition authorities’ decisions, including damage claims. Corporate clients seek out Jean-Maxime for guidance on designing and conducting risk assessments and audits concerning compliance with competition law, and for related advice and trainings.

Jean-Maxime has developed extensive experience in a number of regulated sectors, advising clients including several incumbents and holders of exclusive rights on the application of EU and French antitrust and sector-specific rules at the European and French levels, in particular in the financial services, insurance, gambling, media, telecommunications, transportation, infrastructure,  and energy sectors.
