Joined the Bustamante & Bustamante Law firm in the year 1984. Partner since 1990. Started work in the civil litigation department of the Firm, handling multiple lawsuits concerning a plane accident in the 1980s. For approximately five years was professor of family law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. Was also a professor at Universidad Internacional del Ecuador, teaching corporate law and securities law.

Practice in labour law covers labour and collective bargaining lawsuits and restructuring the personnel system. Provides legal assistance regarding the labour law in force and its application. Has provided legal advice in public procurement and environmental matters with different decentralized governments concerning the construction of hydroelectric dams, photovoltaic projects, grey water management, river cleaning and waste recycling plants. Since 1995, has practised in the areas of insurance and securities market. Was a member of the National Securities Council from 2000 to 2009. Participated in different matters as alternate councilmember for ten years, making her an expert in the field of securities and insurance. Master in Comprehensive Development of Tourist Destinations

Education

In 1984, graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador in Quito with honours. Obtained a master’s degree in Madrid in law practice and a tourism-related master’s degree from Universidad de las Palmas de Gran Canaria, sponsored by the Catholic University in Ibarra.
