Alegría specializes in dispute resolution, specifically international commercial and investment arbitration, and is admitted to practice in Ecuador, Spain and New York. She has worked on international arbitrations administered by the ICC and ICSID and ad hoc arbitrations under UNCITRAL Rules. She is also active in local litigation, arbitration and international business transactions.

Alegría also specializes in the execution of foreign awards and judgments before the Ecuadorian courts.

She is a frequent speaker at ICC YAF events and she leads the Women’s Committee – Ecuador Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club (CEA).

During her time at Uría Menéndez Madrid Office, Alegría was part of a team that advised commercial and investment banks in litigation over financial products, collective consumer claims, debt recovery and bankruptcies.
