Career

Óscar Vela is a Partner at the Firm and leads the Conflict Resolution practice. With over 30 years of experience, he has successfully led several cases for our clients.

He assists both national and international clients in the judicial and administrative spheres, as well as using alternative methods of conflict resolution.

Oscar advises several breeders of rose varieties, a fundamental product and driver of Ecuador's productive sector. He has consistently carried out processes to regularize illegal producers and defend intellectual property rights for over 25 years.

He is recognized as a leader in national and international arbitration, especially in the mining industry and the energy sector. He has represented foreign public and private companies in lawsuits filed against the Ecuadorian State.

Since 2019, Óscar has been part of the team of lawyers advising Nelson Serrano Sáenz, an Ecuadorian who has been unjustly imprisoned and on death row in the United States, with the aim of securing his release.

Óscar has been an arbitrator for the Quito Chamber of Commerce since 1999 and publishes a weekly column in a renowned international magazine.
