José leads our Civil Litigation & Arbitration, and Asian Investment Desk areas.

Career

He specializes in sponsoring Civil and Commercial Litigation and National and International Arbitration.

He is president of the Peruvian chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club, president since 2012 of the Peruvian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and president of the legal committee of the association Peruanos Unidos por la Comida y la Alimentación (PUCA), a non-governmental organization promoting Peruvian cuisine. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Center for China and Asia Pacific Studies of Universidad del Pacífico and member of the Advisory Committee of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), a non-governmental organization based in Beijing, China, created to promote various dispute resolution mechanisms between parties around the world.

He is also a member of the lists of arbitrators of institutions such as the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Center for Analysis and Conflict Resolution of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and the International Arbitration Center of the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AMCHAM).

Since 2019, he has been working with the Private Competitiveness Council in the preparation of the Competitiveness Report, as a member of the Board on the Justice System.

He is a professor at the Law School of Universidad de Lima and has also been a professor at Universidad del Pacífico and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. He is a lecturer and author of articles and papers on his specialty. He is the author of the book “Proceso, poder jurisdiccional y tutela procesal efectiva” (ARA Editores, 2009).
