Based in China, Partner Daniel Fertig focuses his practice on a mix of equity and debt securities offerings, as well as M&A transactions. His work on securities offerings includes U.S. registered offerings and Rule 144A and Regulation S offerings. The issuers he represents are based both in mainland China and in Taiwan. He also advises public companies on corporate governance and regulatory matters.

Daniel joined the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in 2002, and has been resident in the Firm’s Hong Kong office since July 2003 and in the Firm’s Beijing office since January 2013. He became a Partner in 2012. Prior to becoming an attorney, Daniel worked as a translator for a number of organizations including the Beijing Foreign Languages Press and the Beijing office of a U.S. law firm.

Daniel is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Daniel earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1994, an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Columbia University in 1999 and a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2002.
