Career

Michelle Scheffler is a “go-to” trial lawyer for energy clients in high-stakes litigation—from bet-the-company civil cases to catastrophic personal injury and death cases.

Michelle represents major oil and gas companies, publicly-traded and privately-owned independents, and equity investors in a wide range of matters including cases arising under operating agreements, lease termination disputes, mass and class-action royalty litigation, and complex title disputes. Michelle is a trusted advisor for energy clients and represents them in some of the highest-profile energy disputes in the country.

Michelle takes a common-sense, business-oriented approach to each case whether it requires a strongly-negotiated settlement, or the aggressive defense or prosecution of her client’s claims. Her experience continues to be recognized by clients and colleagues and has most recently been recognized by Chambers USA 2021-2022 (Chambers and Partners) in nationwide oil and gas litigation, The US Legal 500 (Legalese) as a key lawyer in Energy Litigation: Oil and Gas for 2022, and by Texas Super Lawyers 2020-2022 (Thomson Reuters).
