Career

Simon is Director of BLP in the San José office. He specializes in the practice areas of Business Law and Free Trade Zones (FTZ).

In Business Law, he advises national and transnational companies on day to day matters and has extensive experience in leading regional legal teams, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate reorganization processes.

In FTZ, he advises on the benefits and obligations associated with the Free Zones Regime and guides companies through the process of establishing operations under the regime including service, commercialization, and manufacturing. He also provides advice on the expansion and transfer of operations, as well as the renewal of incentives for companies operating within free zones. He has experience in mergers and acquisitions of FTZ companies assuring them of continuing regime benefits.

Simon joined the BLP team as a legal assistant in 2011, after having worked at Iberoamerican Consultants in the same position. He was named a Senior Associate in 2019.
