Fiona McMutrie

Fiona is a Legal Director in the Human Resources Practice Group of Eversheds Sutherland based in London and specialising in employment law since qualification in September 2000.
Fiona advises on all aspects of employment law with significant experience advising on corporate restructuring and transactions and dispute resolution, particularly representing clients in numerous cases in the Employment Tribunal.
Fiona has significant experience of advising clients across a range of sectors including financial services and insurance. Her experience in these sectors in particular includes advising on complex disputes involving allegations of wrongful and/or unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and cross-grievances, negotiating senior level exits, TUPE, collective consultation and industrial relations. Fiona also regularly provides training on employment law.
Fiona has gained valuable in-house experience having been on secondment to a number of major employers, most recently a multinational financial services company where Fiona was responsible for advising the various group companies on everyday HR issues, policy and procedural issues, reward (including share and bonus schemes), subject access requests, immigration responsibilities, corporate restructuring and transactions (business transfers and outsourcing), complex and sensitive grievances and disputes, contributing to strategic planning and board reports and preparing advice for senior executives.
Fiona is recognised for her pragmatic and sensible approach to managing workplace relationships and issues in the context of often competing commercial, political, regulatory and reputational pressures.
Fiona is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and has been quoted in Chambers and Partners as continuing to impress with her 'quick understanding of her client's position' along with her ability to come up with 'creative ideas'.
