Henry Dean
Work Department
Henry is a Senior Associate in our Financial Services group. He has experience in a broad range of financial services and products, with a particular focus on insurance, derivatives and risk transfer transactions.
Henry acts for insurers on a variety of insurance and reinsurance transactions including bulk annuities, longevity products, financial collateral structures and business transfers. He also advises on a range of regulatory and company law with a particular focus on Solvency II.
Henry has advised a number of institutional investors and other corporates in connection with derivatives (including the negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements) and investment products.
His recent experience includes:
advising Scottish Widows on the £10bn longevity insurance and reinsurance deal with Lloyds Banking Group pension schemes and Pacific Life Re;
advising Aviva on a £1bn buy-in of the Co-operative pension scheme;
acting for Markel on the Part VII insurance business transfer of the entire business of EC Insurance Company
advising Legal & General on the £2.4 bn buy-out of the Nortel Networks UK Pension Scheme;
acting for a number of insurers on their reinsurance arrangements, including asset-reinsurance and placing reinsurance at lloyds;
advising a UK pension scheme on a number of investments in private equity and debt alternative investment funds;
acting for a range of corporates in the implementation of ISDA master agreements.
