Emma Humphreys

Work Department
Emma is a Partner in our Employment, Labor and Pensions group, specialising in Industrial Relations and Labor Law. She acts for a range of clients in various sectors, with particular experience of the transport sector.
Emma provides legal, technical and strategic advice to clients on matters concerning collective employment issues. This often involves supporting clients with union-related matters (including dealing with statutory recognition claims and advising on unlawful inducements) and collective disputes (including helping clients mitigate the impact of strikes or protests and defending blacklisting/union detriment challenges). Emma also regularly provides strategic advice to assist clients reshape their union relationships, prepare for union negotiations and navigate difficult change projects, often in the context of a complex industrial relations environment.
Emma has advised on some of the most high-profile labor disputes in recent years and has extensive experience in high court litigation having acted on a significant number of interim injunctions challenging the lawfulness of strike action (including representing clients in reported cases).
Emma is an experienced public speaker and regularly speaks at industry events and on behalf of the Employment Lawyers' Association, as well as delivering training and hosting thought-leadership dinners on key developments in Labor Law.
