Gareth Wadley
Work Department
Gareth is a partner in the Human Resources Practice Group of Eversheds LLP. He specialises in employment and immigration law.
Gareth advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment law for private and public sector clients. Gareth's experience includes assisting with the employment aspects of corporate transactions, providing TUPE advice and advising on employee severances, business reorganisations and collective redundancies as well as the preparation of contractual documentation, staff handbooks, policies and procedures. Gareth regularly presents training seminars on various aspects of employment law.
Gareth deals with a broad caseload of employment tribunal work including unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. He has recently advised on a collective consultation claim involving more than 350 employees and he is currently handling an age discrimination claim with a potential liability in excess of £3million.
Gareth has previously been seconded to a leading insurance/reinsurance broker where he gained a unique insight into the legal and commercial issues facing the client's business and its management team.
Gareth is a member of the Eversheds Immigration Team and works closely with businesses seeking to move their workforce around the globe and recruit new employees to ensure that all legal requirements are complied with.
Gareth has assisted a number of clients in preparing to register as a sponsoring employer under the new points based system and he is authorised to act as a 'Level 1 User' for those clients. Gareth regularly provides training on all areas of business immigration law including the recent and forthcoming changes to the UK immigration system.
